Steam Glutinous Rice


Ingredients

2 cups of Glutinous Rice
5 dried Chinese mushrooms
1 can braised peanuts
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tbsp 5 spice powder
light soya sauce
dark soya sauce
sesame oil
pepper

Method

1. Wash and soak glutinous rice for 2 hours. Drain and marinate with 5 spice powder, light soya sauce, dark soya sauce, sesame oil and pepper.

2. Wash and soak Chinese mushrooms in hot water till soft, cut and discard the stalks. Cut into slices.

3. Heat the pan with oil, saute the mushrooms for 2 minutes. Pour in the marinated rice and stir well. Add in the braised peanuts and stir fried further till almost dry. Remove from heat.

4. Transfer the rice into a steaming tray and steam for 30 minutes or when is cooked. Serve hot.

Golden Beancurd in Mushroom Sauce


Ingredients

A cake of beancurd
2 tbsp of Mushroom sauce
1/2 tsp of pounded chilli
1 tbsp of sugar
ginger, chopped
oil
1/2 cup water

Method

1. Cubes the beancurd, deep fry, drain and set aside.

2. Heat the pan with a little of oil, saute the ginger. Add in the pounded chilli and stir for 1 minute. Pour in the Mushroom sauce and water.

3. When the sauce starting to boil, add in sugar and stir well.

4. Off fire when the sauce has become slightly thick. Pour over the beancurd and serve hot.
